Last week Google announced that they have over 120 million chrome user and showed off some latest features of it. And they have a huge response from both users and businesses. Even many of them asked Google how they can employ chromes increased security, high speed and modern browsing capability into their business. They were also excited about the customizations and configuration that Google chrome offers.

Well, they need not to wait any longer as Google created a MSI installer for them. Using this all the managed users can deploy chromes safety measures and confidentiality into their business. This installer is compatible with windows, Mac, Linux. Google also added a list of policies and a set of templates that will allow the administrator to manage security and privacy according to their requirement.

With this new Chrome service organizations will be able to take advantage of enhanced security and web performance without needing any other expensive software or buying any special hardware. Installing Google Chrome allows the users to access to HTML5 web apps. Support for the new business features is available at Google applications for Business. Google has also posted documentations so that administrators can deploy this service easily.

Last few months Google have been running some trial program at different organizations to testify the effectiveness of chrome at larger business. Vanguard, Protect & gamble Boise State University and several other organizations had taken part in this trail program. They have successfully deployed chrome and distributed it among thousands of users. Google claims that they have received excellent feedback from them. This prompted Google to run a larger program and consequently brought this announcement of distributing Google among administrators.

Google says that this is just the beginning and currently they are working on some new policies and privacy options. Google hopes that their customer will appreciate their effort.

All the Details concerning the U.S. State Division cables got by the WikiLeaks are beginning to appear out. Even though the WikiLeaks itself might be under the denial of service assault, it provided more than a few newspapers around the globe access to these raw papers it is getting ready for releasing later in the present day. The “New York Times” only posted its initial article summarizing these contents of that cables as well as highlighting the greatest interesting ones.

In the midst of the 251,287 U.S. political cables leaked by means of the WikiLeaks, here is one set that deals by means of the huge computer assault on Google as well as other companies that was initial revealed most recent January. At this instance, Google went open with its argument that these attacks came on or after the Chinese administration, as well as resulted in the Google temporarily drawn out of the China. They came back in the more imperfect way previous summer.

In accordance with the New York Times, a number of the fresh leaked cables position directly toward China’s Politburo in favor of instigating the unique attacks:

A worldwide computer hacking attempt: the China’s Politburo heading for the interruption into the Google’s computer arrangement in the state, some one Chinese contact informed the American Embassy situated in the Beijing in the January, single cable informed. This Google hacking being a fraction of the coordination movement of the computer damage carried out by means of the government operatives, confidential security experts as well as Internet outlaws employed by the government of the China. They have out of order into the American government computers as well as those of the Western allies, the religious leader Dalai Lama as well as the American businesses from 2002, cables supposed.

Om Malik, well-know journalist and founder of technology news blog GigaOm today entered into the news other than the technology arena. Earlier GigaOM was the first to break the AOL acquisition of TechCrunch.

Today GigaOm is in news as it raised another $2.5 million according to an SEC filing. Through this Giga Omni Media reached to a healthy capital of $8.33 million.

The most recent finance that was raised by the firm was $4.5 million and this was almost two years back. Now, the fresh capital is arrived from Alloy Ventures and True Ventures.

Just recently GigaOm experienced a serious loss through senior writer and editor Liz Gannes, who left the organization and joined with All ThingsD. At this moment, the funding is definitely a sweet news savor.

Before he revealed himself in April (when BoyGeniusReport was acquired by Mail.com Media Corp. in a multimillion-dollar deal) Geller ran the gadget blog (and his Twitter feed) anonymously. Since then he has kept up his steady diet of irreverent commentary on wireless news and whatever gadget he is testing. Though not all of his tweets are directly about wireless, most are and he still manages to break a scoop every now and then.

As the technology reporter for the Washington Post, Kang has an inside track on federal technology policy. Often tweeting from FCC meetings or other events in Washington, she is often among the first to know about what the FCC is planning to do. Kang’s tweets are infused with both candy-coated musings and eat-your-vegetables news.

Now an analyst at Gartner, Gartenberg has bounced around from several technology consulting firms, but he is trusted as a reliable and insightful analyst source by both blogs and the mainstream press. He has also become a tech-focused Twitter celebrity. He tweets matter-of-fact analysis and insightful musings about smartphones and other technologies, and is seemingly always using the medium, whether it is to tweet from launch events or while getting a morning bagel. He also regularly takes to Twitter to mock what he calls tech “unicorns” like the Verizon-iPhone.

McCracken is a longtime tech journalist  (he’s been on the beat since 1991) and has made a name for himself by blogging on the site Technologizer. On Twitter, McCracken takes a well-informed, if often, sarcastic look at technology and condenses it into a 140-character form for consumption. (Recent samples: “Then there’s Qi, a good new technology which nobody will know how to pronounce,” and “Sprint will have a ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ app. I’d pay for an “Avoiding the Kardashians” one…”). McCracken provides crack live coverage from industry events (including the Windows Phone 7 launch), and also brings and old-school sensibility to the new medium.

Paczkowski is the deputy managing editor of AllThingsD, and blogs regularly about the wireless industry, especially smartphones. Most of his Twitter stream is fed directly from ATD, but the headlines he churns out (and the stories behind them) are enough to keep users coming back for more. Some recent samples include:  “Windows Phone 7: There’s an App for Some of That,” “Nokia’s Ari Jaaksi: Meego Home Now,” and “This Just in From the N.S. Sherlock Institute for the Bleeding Obvious: Media Likes Covering Apple.” It should be noted that Paczkowski’s colleague, the indefatigable Kara Swisher (@karaswisher) is also an extremely avid Twitter user, and a sharp one that. Swisher, also a longtime tech journalist, is quick to post replies to those who engage her in conversation (despite having over 702,000 followers) and is always up for a bit of playful banter to go alongside her solid reporting.

Tofel can usually be found on Twitter engaged in conversation about the merits of a new phone or service he is testing. Additionally, Tofel is a great Android enthusiast, and is constantly tweaking his Nexus One, which he lets his followers know about. Tofel’s colleague Stacey Higginbotham is (@gigastacey) is also takes to Twitter on a  regular basis. What Tofel brings to Twitter in his earnest love for gadgets,  Higginbotham provides in equal measure for her enthusiasm and knowledge of mobile broadband. When he is not opining about the latest phone he has reviewed, Segan is often found skirmishing with others on Twitter about long-term trends in the mobile industry. His convictions on Twitter are solid, but he is not above changing his mind about Big Topics (a longtime skeptic of the Verizon-iPhone, he says he has recently come around to the idea because the balance of evidence has shifted recently). That marks Segan: he analyzes, both on and off of Twitter, based on the evidence, and is usually pretty spot on.

(“dumbfounded at the people calling wp7’s third-party apps mediocre — I’d actually call this the strongest start EVER for a new platform.”). Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed Apple’s iconic CEO Steve Jobs in monetary worth. This is quite an impressive feat especially when it has been just five years since Facebook was founded.

At only 26 years old, Zuckerberg is valued as the 35th richest person on the Forbes 400, his estimated fortune worth US $6.9 billion. 2010 has been so far a good year for him, having added US $4.9 billion. Quite impressive than Steve Jobs if you think about it–Jobs has been an iconic figure of Apple, a company that he founded in 1976–or about 8 years before the Facebook CEO was born.

Majority of Jobs’ assets come from his stake in Disney. When he sold Pixar, his animation studio, to Disney, he acquired 138 million shares of the company. His Disney shares acquired him US $4.4 billion, while his 5.5 million shares at Apple are worth US $1.3 million.

Meanwhile, private equity investments in Facebook has risen, from 2009 value of US $7 billion to US $23 billion–or triple the last year’s worth. The illiquid private shares in non primary markets increases its even richer net value.

Zuckerberg’s 35th–but how did our favorite Apple Chief Executive fare? Currently, Steve Jobs is worth US $6.1 billion, placing him 42nd on the Forbes 400. He has gained US $1 billion since last year, but still, he can’t keep up with the 26 year old tech savvy genius.

There’s seems to be little opposing rivalry between the two, however, the two might be widening each other’s territory to overlap each other. Facebook has been rumored to release it’s own phone that’s up to par with Apple’s iPhone. Apple on the other hand, has just entered the social networking world with its recent music app Ping.

Research In Motion (Blackberry) security, which provides the features like push-email, etc is being considered as threat by several countries like India, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Indonesia. The technology is considered as threat because of RIM’s encryption of the email and web browsing activity which cannot
be monitored.

More than 85% of U.S. population is using cell-phone services, So the companies like RIM is looking into the new prospective markets of Middle East and Southeast Asia. Saudi Arabia has however declared that it will block the services of blackberry like messenger, push-email and web browsing from 11th October 2010. However the RIM’s official has promised technical solution of decrypted data to Indian government which announced that it will block the messaging and push-email facility of RIM if the access is not provided by 31st August 2010.

“It is the security of Blackberry that has helped the company to reach this height. But however its causing threat now.” said Russ Robin, an analyst of NPD Group. It is believed that RIM will have to take the necessary steps sooner to provide access to the decrypted data to the governments.

If you think your smart phone is fully secure from hackers and malicious software applications then think again! The BBC teamed up with Veracode to develop a gaming application that can be used on a smartphone. The gaming application was built using the standard toolkits available to developers when creating various programs or applications for different handsets.

The secret behind this particular gaming application was that it was malicious because the application could capture the individual’s activity and spy on them. However, because the gaming application was built using the standard toolkits, it made it very hard for any individual or specialised technology to detect the malicious components within the application because the toolkits used are standard components that are used by software developers across the world to develop various software applications or components.

Now you might think that most of the malicious applications are designed to attack desktop computers, however, additional evidence has surfaced, identifying that there are crude hackers that are developing applications to target personal technologies such as the smartphone.  For example, Apple and Google, two of the biggest technology companies, have had to remove certain applications from their online store from fear that the applications could be malicious, and hence a danger to their consumers.

Desktop computers were the next big thing back in 1999, where at least 90% of household owners owned one. However, Veracode, have identified that the smartphones are at that very same stage that the desktop computers were at back in 1999. This means that today, smartphones are one of the most popular technologies to own. Also, in today’s digital era, you will find that each member of a household owns a smartphone whereas previously, one household would own only one desktop computer. As you can imagine, with the mobile industry becoming one of the biggest markets in the industry, it also means that it has become of the most popular markets for hackers.  Digital crime experts are now expanding their services to cover smartphones, to not only secure them but also investigate any misuse.

Another reason why smartphones have become the next big target for hackers is because, previously, in the desktop world, hackers would need to get users to click on a web link and actually get them to make a purchase by entering their credit card details. However, today, in the mobile world, you will find that each mobile phone is already linked up to a payment plan that hackers can tap into, hence they don’t actually need you to do anything.

More and more people are buying into the various deals available for contract phones where they are gifted with several minutes and text messages, including a free phone. These kinds of deals are extremely attractive to everyone, especially students who are on a budget, but still want the latest phone, and with a myriad of cash-back schemes available, your new smartphone could end up costing you next to nothing.

So the next time you’re out and about, looking to purchase a new application for your smartphone, think again, because you might just find yourself under surveillance.

Apple said about the signal problem:

“discovered the cause of this dramatic drop in bars” and that it was surprised and stunned that “that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong.”

Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.
