In an announcement made by HP today, users in the US will be able to get their hands on the Wi-Fi version of the first WebOS powered device the HP TouchPad starting 1st July 2011. Following the US the HP TouchPad will soon be available in UK, Ireland, France, and Germany. Canadian consumers willing to get their hands on this device will have to wait a bit longer i.e. till mid-july to grab one. HP is also planning to make the HP TouchPad available in countries like Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Singapore later this year.
Where can you buy the HP TouchPad?
HP TouchPad will be available at Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, Walmart, Sam’s Club, OfficeMax, Amazon.com, Fry’s, Microcenter, other leading local and regional retailers, and HP’s online stores. Details regarding the availability for HP TouchPad in other countries will be made available locally at a later date.
How much will I have to pay to get my hands on the HP TouchPad?
You will have to shell out $499.99 for the 16GB version and $599.99 for the 32GB verison.
Can I preorder the HP TouchPad?
Yes, you can. Preorders in North America and Europe will begin June 19.

HP has also announced that it will be partnering with AT&T to introduce a connected version of HP TouchPad later this summer. So, we might just see the HP TouchPad running on 3G or who knows maybe HP plans to add 4G LTE connectivity to this device. Well, we will have to wait to see that.
aunch 4G LTE services in five markets namely Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and San Antonio as confirmed by a press release, this morning. The LTE services in these five cities will begin as early as this summer. AT&T has plans to extend its service to ten more cities (AT&T has not disclosed the names of these cities) by second half of the year with plans to reach the 70 million users mark by year end. AT&T has so far invested $75 billion in the wireless and wired networks over the last four years and they further plan to invest another $19 million to strengthen their network in order to gain more customers and hence more market share.
